About our organisation...
"We Can Beat Wilms" is the website of the Molly Biederman Wilms Tumour Foundation.
The foundation was established in March 2007 by Emma and Rob Biederman after the death from Wilms of their five-year-old daughter, Molly.
Our aim is threefold:
-
To raise awareness of Wilms tumour
-
To raise funds to aid research and eradication of Wilms tumour
-
To honour the memory of Molly
Initially, as a new venture we will be relying on family and friends to meet these objectives, but in time we hope word will spread and a 'snowball' effect will take place and vast numbers of people take up the baton and campaign for Wilms tumour research.
Perhaps surprisingly, there is NO dedicated Wilms cancer research team in the UK. We hope we can raise the profile and the cash resources to change that. Until it does, our intention is support Great Ormond Street Hospital's work in treating and studying Wilms tumour.
The foundation is non-profit. All monies raised/donated will go to GOSH or subsequent dedicated Wilms tumour research.

Molly's Courage
No hair, tube up her bugle - but always first to find the funny side of everything!
Molly is pictured here with her uncle Keith and cousin Abi - Aunty Mandy caught this great snap as the girls watched grandad faff with his own camera and blind himself with the flash! |
